Lazada Vietnam held its second Business eCommerce Seller Tribute (BEST) Day on October 6. As part of the event, which was attended by representatives from the Vietnamese Ministry of Information and Communications, outstanding digital entrepreneurs from nine categories were honored for their achievements in the past year.
During the event, 51 awards were given to sellers with the most outstanding performances and contributions to the community. A panel discussion was also held between representatives from Lazada and the seller community to discuss challenges that digital entrepreneurs usually encounter and how Lazada could help address these issues. Lazada also presented a special prize of VND50 million (USD2,000) to one lucky new seller to help kick-start their online business more effectively.
The event was also a great chance for new sellers to connect with Lazada as well as experienced sellers to gain more knowledge and inspiration for their businesses. Lazada also shared a series of seller support initiatives that are set to be launched that will help both new and experienced sellers thrive in the digital economy.
BEST Day was created by Lazada Vietnam on October 10 last year to honor outstanding digital entrepreneurs on the platform who have made significant contributions to the community and the economy. The initiative was launched as a way to drive greater awareness about digital entrepreneurism and to elevate the status of online sellers in Vietnam, especially with the accelerated need for digitalization triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The inaugural BEST Day had such a positive impact on uplifting digital entrepreneurship that the Vietnamese Government officially announced this year that October 10 would become National Digital Transformation Day. In addition, the Vietnamese Ministry of Information and Communications designated October as the National Digital Consumption Month and has been working with eCommerce platforms and participating merchants throughout October to give local consumers the chance to enjoy various benefits while providing digital entrepreneurs with opportunities to grow their brands and exposure.
“Since our very first days, Lazada has pursued a long-term commitment to empowering millions of Vietnamese businesses and sellers to successfully and sustainably develop their businesses on digital platforms,” said Kaya Qin, chief operating executive of Lazada Group and chief executive officer of Lazada Vietnam. “We are proud to celebrate Vietnamese digital entrepreneurs with our BEST Day initiative and even prouder that the event is now recognized as part of the country’s National Digital Transformation Day. We hope to implement more of such meaningful initiatives to honor the digital entrepreneur community and to motivate them to continue contributing to Vietnam’s digitalization journey and the sustainable development of the Vietnamese economy and society.”
