Lazada Vietnam made a donation of VND1.2 billion (US$48,900) to support disaster relief efforts in the country’s northern provinces following the devastating impact of Super Typhoon Yagi.
The eCommerce company’s donation to the central relief committee of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front (VFF) included VND500 million in cash as well as VND700 million in supplies for Lào Cai and Yên Bái, two provinces that have been heavily affected by the storm. Lazada Logistics also sent a convoy on September 16 to deliver 34,000 essential goods, including milk, water, cakes, detergent and toothpaste, to the two hard-hit provinces.
Standing in solidarity with impacted communities, many Lazada employees have also made direct donations to the VFF to support relief efforts in the wake of the powerful storm.
The company has also mobilized resources from its Lazada Care Fund to provide aid to workers affected by the storms and floods. The regional fund was established in 2022 to help employees during emergencies and other special circumstances.
