Year-End Shopping Season Kicks Off with 9.9 Brands & Beyond Sale

Lazada wrapped up a successful 9.9 shopping festival, kicking off the year-end shopping season for 2022. Across the markets it operates in, the eCommerce company recorded an uplift of 50 and 75 times in sales volume on Lazada and LazMall, respectively, compared to regular days. Shoppertainment initiatives continued to prove popular for Southeast Asian shoppers, as the platform recorded approximately 65% uplift in sales and views via LazLive, compared to its 9.9 campaign last year.

LazMall Hosts Brands Future Forum

LazMall last week hosted its third annual Brands Future Forum, which focused on helping brands leverage Lazada’s extensive digital ecosystem to reach, engage with and retain their customers. The event featured tech showcases, presentations from executives, a panel discussion with LazMall partners as well as the unveiling of the winners of the Brands Future Forum Awards. In line with the event’s focus on the importance of partnerships, Lazada Group Chief Executive Officer James Dong also spoke with CNBC on how the eCommerce platform is working with different partners and enablers, including those in retail, logistics and payments, to create an open ecosystem. Also key to this year’s BFF was the introduction of “Transforming Southeast Asia – From Discovery to Delivery,” a thought leadership report that explores Southeast Asian eCommerce shoppers’ paths to purchase.

Lazada Joins Southeast Asia’s First ECommerce Anti-Counterfeiting Consortium

Lazada last week became one of the founding members of the Southeast Asia eCommerce Anti-Counterfeiting Working Group, also known as the SeCA Working Group. The consortium is the first in the region dedicated to anti-counterfeiting in digital commerce and seeks to facilitate open and constructive dialogue and information exchange regarding intellectual property rights.

Lazada Concludes Live Bug Bounty Event with YesWeHack

Lazada recently concluded its live bug bounty with YesWeHack, a leading global cybersecurity company. Part of the Hack in The Box Security Conference that was held in Singapore on August 25 and 26, the two-day live bug bounty program resulted in 115 vulnerability reports submitted from several dozen researchers, including some of the best security researchers in the world. During the event, Lazada participated in activities that allowed participating researchers to extensively test the platform’s security systems and applications. Learnings gleaned from the event will allow Lazada to better safeguard its customers and partners.

Lazada has been working with YesWeHack since January 2020. In 2021, the eCommerce platform opened its live bug bounty program to the public, with rewards of up to US$10,000 per bounty. Lazada currently works with over 45,000 ethical hackers to achieve maximum security and protection for its platforms.

Lazada Features Products from the Singapore Armed Forces

Lazada Singapore on Sep. 6 signed a memorandum of understanding to offer selected products from the Combat Service Support Command (CSSCOM) – the supply arm of the Singapore Armed Forces – on its eCommerce platform. The Lifestylemart store brings greater convenience to Singaporeans serving their national service, enabling them to shop for personal equipment and other kit items at their convenience and have them delivered to their doorsteps. Items such as towels, running shoes and attire are available during the store’s pilot launch, and a wider range of products are planned for a later stage.
