LazBeat News Roundup: Lazada Thailand Clinches Prestigious Workplace Awards

The LazBeat News Roundup is a quick take on the latest happenings at Lazada Group and in the digital commerce landscape. This week’s roundup includes Lazada Thailand’s recognition for workplace excellence, Lazada Malaysia’s collaboration with Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation, and the latest findings from Lazada’s Digital Commerce Confidence Index.

Lazada Thailand Recognized with Accolades for Workplace Excellence

Lazada Thailand recently received the Silver in Excellence in Workplace Wellbeing title from the HR Excellence Awards 2022. Lazada was also included in HR Asia’s list of Best Companies to Work for in Asia (Thailand Edition). These accolades recognized the eCommerce platform’s efforts in creating a conducive and holistic work environment. Some initiatives that were highlighted included LazListen, an employee assistance program for mental health support; LazTalk, a knowledge-sharing platform between company employees, staff and industry experts; as well as LazSwitch, an internal transfer program designed to encourage employees to expand their skillsets.

Lazada Malaysia Concludes Seller Roadshow

Lazada Malaysia collaborated with the Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (SIDEC) last month to bring its MSME educational roadshows across the state of Selangor. In the districts of Gombak, Batang Kali, Petaling Jaya and Hulu Selangor, local sellers were taught how to be onboarded onto Lazada and how the eCommerce platform could help incubate their selling journeys to bring them closer to the digital economy. Specifically tailored for Selangor residents, the roadshows were part of a larger SIDEC program aimed at accelerating  digital adoption.

Lazada Releases Digital Commerce Confidence Index for Q2 2022

Lazada this month released its latest Digital Commerce Confidence Index, covering the time period of Q2 2022. Key takeaways from the study include how Southeast Asian sellers are cautiously optimistic about business growth, reflecting increasing external pressures and the normalization of digital commerce as COVID-19 restrictions eases in many countries. These factors contributed to 70% of online sellers expecting more than 10% increase in their sales for the next quarter, compared to 77% in the last quarter.
