The LazBeat News Roundup is a quick take on the latest happenings at Lazada Group and in the digital commerce landscape. This week’s roundup covers the launch of LazBeauty in Indonesia and Malaysia, Shiseido Group’s first digital ambassador and Lazada’s recognition for its cybersecurity efforts.

LazBeauty recently launched in Malaysia and Indonesia with exclusive discounts and perks for members. Upon signing up as a LazBeauty member, consumers will gain access to a wide assortment of beauty products at wallet-friendly prices. They can also look forward to member-exclusive deals, first-hand news about trending products, product recommendations from local beauty experts and other benefits. It is part of Lazada’s suite of beauty-focused offerings, which includes features such as Virtual Try-On and the Try & Buy program.

Shiseido Group Partners with Lazada for 150th Anniversary Celebrations

As part of its 150th anniversary celebrations, Shiseido Asia Pacific recently debuted its first digital ambassador partner, SHI, as part of an exclusive campaign with Lazada. Aptly named “Beautify the Future,” this regional campaign includes well-loved brands, such as Shiseido, NARS, Anessa, Elixir and dProgram, as well as fragrances from Issey Miyake and Narciso Rodriguez. As part of this initiative, a portion of the sale proceeds from Shiseido products and brands on LazMall will be donated to NGOs across Southeast Asia, including Daughters Of Tomorrow, CARE International, WOMEN:girls, Kenan Foundation Asia and Markoding.

Lazada Recognized For Cybersecurity Efforts by Singapore Police Force

Lazada recently received the Alliance of Public Private Cybercrime Stakeholders Appreciation Award from the Cybercrime Command of the Singapore Police Force (SPF) for the second consecutive year. The award recognizes the eCommerce company’s efforts in capability building and detecting and preventing cybercrimes. Under an ongoing partnership with SPF, Lazada has held various campaigns to raise awareness about online scams, published joint cybercrime advisories to the public and also hosted an internship program for SPF personnel. Representing Lazada Group at the awards ceremony, Andy Chua, senior vice president for intellectual property protection and law enforcement, noted that public-private partnerships are the way forward given the increasing volume and sophistication of online crimes. “That is why Lazada is committed to working with law enforcement agencies to combat scams and to build a trusted and safe online space together,” he added.
