Rizza Lana’s entrepreneurial journey started almost a decade ago. In 2014, she launched WHIM Manila, a wallpaper and sticker business that quickly thrived, leading Lana to quit her job as an hotelier to focus on her entrepreneurial endeavors.
Her next business idea came to her when she noticed that there were very few skincare products in the market that worked well on Filipina skin. Wanting to address this pain point and inspired by the environmental documentary A Plastic Ocean, Lana set out to create Lana PH, a mindful skincare brand with gentle and eco-conscious formulas and packaging. Launched in 2017, the brand features locally made skincare products that are all-natural, non-comedogenic and cruelty-free.
Wanting to further expand her entrepreneurial empire, Lana eventually decided to become a seller on Lazada. Being on the eCommerce platform has helped Lana grow her many businesses, including Lana PH; Mink, a skincare brand for women’s intimate areas; Talaala, a customized and sustainable jewelry brand; and streetwear label Ambush Clothing.
Aside from being a platform for her multiple businesses, Lazada has given Lana access to a much wider customer base. She credits the platform for providing much-needed exposure and promotions, which have helped with her brand equity. Through the help of data-driven seller tools, such as Business Advisor and Lazada University, Lana and her team have also been able to equip themselves with optimal business strategies.
For someone with no business experience when she first started, embarking on this entrepreneurial journey has been an eye-opening and empowering experience, Lana shared. “Do things even if you’re scared,” she added. “You won’t know what’s on the other side of the fence if you don’t try.”
