Lunar New Year, aka Spring Festival, has always been a time to honor cultural traditions as well as to enjoy vibrant celebrations and heartwarming reunions with families and friends.
With offices across Asia serving diverse communities, Lazada celebrated the occasion with unique activities for its staff as well as for customers. Below are some highlights of Lazada’s festivities.
Lazada Vietnam: Virtual Year-End Office Party
While staff at Lazada Vietnam couldn’t celebrate the end of the year in person due to COVID-19 restrictions, they held their first-ever virtual year-end office party to mark the occasion. Lazadians got to meet each other online, participate in exciting games and activities, and cheer for all the significant milestones that they accomplished over the last year. The night ended on a high note with virtual toasts from everyone to ring in the Lunar New Year with good luck.

Lazada China: Hybrid Celebrations
The team in China kicked off a full-day event with online music performances and a special parade with stalls around the office, all set up in accordance to COVID-19 health and safety guidelines. Lazadians enjoyed quizzes, arts and crafts activities, manicures, live bands, dance performances and online shows.
Lazada Malaysia: A Festive “Hunt” for Lazada’s mascot
Lazada Malaysia introduced a special Lunar New Year edition of its popular Lazzie Hunt from 10 January to 6 February. As part of the event, customers could participate in exciting games and stand a chance to win shopping vouchers and exclusive rewards.
Over 5.5 million consumers joined the hunt. Players had to track down Chinese New Year-themed versions of Lazzie, Lazada’s loveable mascot, to exchange for special rewards and participate in the Lazzie Game, where winners got to share a prize pool of RM88,888 each game on Wednesdays and Fridays. In the spirit of Chinese New Year, they could also send angpows to their friends and families using the Lazzie Hunt e-Angpow feature, which also allows recipients a chance to receive up to RM88 worth of rewards. This feature was also accessible by scanning the QR codes from Lazada’s angpows that were randomly placed on parcels during the festive period.
Lazada Singapore: Prosperity Sale Lucky Draw
A total of 100 lucky winners from Singapore received cash or cashback prizes as part of Lazada’s Prosperity Sale Lucky Draw 2022 event. This included grand-prize winner Priscilla Tang, who received her cash prize about a week ago. Even with a career spent reading and processing numbers as an accountant, Tang didn’t immediately register the significance of the SGD88,888 check until she realized she won the prize money simply by shopping on Singapore’s leading eCommerce platform.
Having shopped on Lazada and RedMart for over four years, Tang’s purchase needs evolved after the birth of her child. In fact, she fittingly refers to her toddler as her “lucky star,” since the purchase that won her the grand prize was a $300 order of powdered milk.
“This is definitely a good start to the new year,” Tang said, adding that she plans to use the money to buy more baby products and to help with some of the expenses when her child starts pre-school this year.
Singapore Chief Executive Officer Loh Wee Lee, who presented the cheqck to the first daily winner of a SGD3,888 cash prize as well as to Tang, said: “On behalf of the Lazada Singapore team, I would like to congratulate and thank all of our winners for shopping with us as we usher in the new year. Many of our winners have been loyal customers of Lazada and it has been a pleasure to surprise each and every one of our winners and reward them for shopping with us.”
